Counselor Overview

August 18, 2021

Hello students and families! Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!

I am so happy and excited to be back as the school counselor for Cabrillo Elementary school for a 3rd year! This year is quite special as I will be the full time counselor at Cabrillo (Mon-Fri) and I couldn’t be happier!

As a professional school counselor, I aim to build a safe and welcoming environment for all students. I am an advocate for students and work with the necessary stakeholders in order to foster students' growth and support their academic, career, and social-emotional development.

Through a comprehensive school-counseling program, I strive to create a school environment where students can have the ability to feel empowered, supported, and confident to reach their goals. The following are services I provide:

  • One-on-one counseling sessions

  • Group counseling sessions

  • Classroom counseling lessons

  • Open collaboration and communication with parents/guardians to support student success

  • Support school personnel

  • Collaboration and consultations

  • Crisis counseling

  • Community resources and referrals

I am so thankful to be part of the Cabrillo community. Let's make the best out of this school year!

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me. The best way to reach me is via email at

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Amezcua
