Good Morning Cabrillo Families!

Campus Updates

After 17 days of intense rain across California, it looks like we can put away our snorkels and resume sunny weather. Cabrillo had some surprises when we returned to school starting with our water main. Fremont Unified School District plumbers were on site repairing the damaged water main deep into the night - work was completed by 2:00 AM! I have linked a letter from Director Tom Ekman from Maintenance, Operations, and Grounds attesting to the safety of the water. If that wasn’t enough, one of our very tall pine trees near San Pedro was uprooted by the storm and fell on the kindergarten yard in the very early morning hours. A crew came out in the morning and quickly removed the tree. We are looking forward to cutting the remaining stumps into coins to place in the grassy area near the kindergarten playground.

Coffee with the Principal

PTA is hosting a Coffee with the Principal on Wednesday, January 18th at 8:30 in the cafeteria. This month will feature PBIS Coordinator Mr. Thibodeaux. He will be sharing information on the Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) program at Cabrillo Elementary. This initiative is helping our students have a more positive experience at school.

Progress Reports

Progress Reports will be sent home on Wednesday, January 18 in the Wednesday Wildcat Folder to families of students in danger of not meeting grade level standards by the end of the trimester.

Cabrillo PTA Meeting, Tuesday, January 17 @ 6:00 in the Cove

Please join us at the January PTA Association meeting at 6:00. Our Cabrillo PTA connects families, the school and our community by providing programs and services at Cabrillo.  When you are a member of PTA, you are an advocate for your child and for all children. You can go to the Cabrillo PTA Totem site to join or use the QR Code in the attached message.

Washington Attendance Area SEL Workshop

The Washington attendance area school counselors will be hosting a parent workshop for all elementary FUSD parents this upcoming Thursday at 6:30pm via zoom. They will be addressing how parents can help their children develop emotional intelligence. This workshop is only being offered in English on Thursday and they hope to offer it in Spanish on a different day to be determined.
