Good Afternoon and Happy Sunday Cabrillo Families,
Honoring Dr. King
We as a nation are fortunate to have gifted speakers like Dr. Martin Luther King. His words transcend time and are as important now as they were nearly 60 years ago. Robert F. Kennedy was campaigning to be the democratic nominee for President in 1968. Upon hearing the words of Dr. King’s assassination, Kenedy paused, looked down as he rubbed his eyes, then shared the news with a shocked crowd of his supporters. He then quoted from memory the ancient Greek playwright Aeschylus. 
"Even in our sleep, pain which cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart until, in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom through the awful grace of God."

Introducing Mr. Thibodeaux
Cabrillo has hired several new teachers. Last week you learned about Miss Galvez. Today you will hear from our new second grade teacher Mr. Thibideaux who will share with you the magic behind the scenes of Lexia. Take it away Mr. Thibideaux. 

Ordering a Yearbook
Yearbooks are now on sale! We have 100  yearbooks for sale this year which I anticipate will sell out very quickly. A flyer is going out in the distribution baskets in the Cafeteria starting the week of January 25th; it can be found here and above. The yearbook can only be purchased online due to the pandemic. 

Yearbook Cover 
Only two more weeks until the yearbook cover contest ends. The Yearbook Cover Contest runs through the month of January. This is a great opportunity for your student to create the winning entry that will be the cover of our 2020-2021 yearbook. Please encourage your student to contribute! 

Materials Distribution This Week
Contactless delivery for this week: TK on Tuesday and Kindergarten on Thursday. The cafeteria doors are open from 6:00 am - 6:00 pm.
