Weekly Letter to the Community, Week 18 of Distance Learning
Posted 12/13/20

Good Morning and Happy Sunday Cabrillo Families,

2020 is FINALLY coming to a close. It has been a challenging year. Yet in spite of the challenges, and they were many, your teachers at Cabrillo worked tirelessly developing skill sets they did not have in order to best deliver education from a distance. Dark days may lie ahead of us as COVID blooms one last virulent time, possibly for the next month. It is during this last stage of the pandemic when we must maintain utmost vigilance and be prepared to sacrifice traditions shared at this holy time of the year in order to remain socially distant with hands washed and faces masked.

And here is the reason. The light that escaped us these past ten months is finally remerging at the end of the tunnel. A vaccine is ready to be delivered and will be available to teachers in Phase 3 of vaccine distribution. This opens the conversation for safely opening schools once again. Be a part of that conversation. Let the school board know how you feel once the vaccine has been distributed. The brilliance of educators happens in the four walls of the classroom, a place I feel will once again be an essential part of the lives of our community.

This is my wish for all of you in the Cabrillo Community. Take this time to curl up and reflect on our lives and loved ones. The Staff at Cabrillo wishes you all a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.  Have a safe and happy holiday season.

Yearbook Cover Contest
Tech Superstar Mrs. Diaz Centeno has a few words for you about the Yearbook Cover Contest. What a great activity for the kids over the winter holiday break! Take it away Mrs. Diaz-Centeno!

Yearbook Photo Uploader
We have 300 images uploaded for the yearbook. Keep them coming! Click the Upload Yearbook Photos found under my weekly video. You will need to use your student’s Google account for verification. Click the Add File uploader then select the images from your phone. Enter your student’s first and last name, select their grade level, then choose their teacher from the drop down list. Add a quick statement on what the student is doing to help us as we create the yearbook. Finally select the date so we know when the event occurred. Press submit and now you have added images we will be able to use in our 2020-2021 yearbook.
