Principal Thornley’s Weekly Message, Week 4, Distance Learning

Cabrillo Technology Welcome Letter to Parents

Cabrillo Technology Welcome Letter to Parents-Spanish

Cabrillo Virtual Computer Lab

Good Morning Cabrillo Families,

I would like to start off today’s chat with a reminder why we are in Distance Learning. School districts across California are closed to stem the rising tide of Covid-19 infections. We know that it is transmitted easiest through the tiny droplets that come from our mouths as we breath.  I have attempted to erect barriers around the play structure on the primary playground, barriers that are torn down. The play structure covered with children represents a perfect vector for transmission of Covid-19. Please help me prevent the spread of Covid-19 by staying off the play structure.

Cabrillo Support Staff

Mrs. Diaz-Centeno has been the glue connecting our teachers to your students by making sure student usernames and passwords are updated and distributed. She does this in addition to teaching all day as our Computer Specialist. I have included a link to her welcome letter as well as a link to her virtual computer classroom at the head of the email you are receiving as well as linked to the school website. Our school counselor Mrs. Amezcua has developed a brief video for you  explaining how you can get in touch with her as well as her virtual counseling office. Please enjoy the brief video.

Materials Distribution

The Cabrillo teachers have developed a schedule for contactless delivery of student materials like packets, Studies Weekly to support Socials Studies, Unit Overview Sheets to support student mastery of priority standards, and ongoing low and no tech supplies your student will need. The schedule was developed at my Instructional Leadership Team meeting last week and will be presented to staff on Wednesday.  If there are no changes, the schedule will look something like I have prepared below:
